With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 3,000 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 150 vessels. The Company is active - through various subsidiaries and under different brand names - in the following business segments: livestock carriers; offshore-support vessels; offshore maintenance and engineering services; dry-cargo vessels; container vessels; product tankers; high-heat tankers; car carriers and vessel-management services. From our Breda head office, approximately 120 staff support the Company’s activities.

What will you do?
In this function, you are responsible for advising on and drawing up Charter Parties, tenders, commercial and technical contracts, as well as dealing with a variety of legal issues. In addition, you handle marine claims and provide specialist support to corporate projects.  

You work in a close-knit Legal team consisting of three Legal Counsels, two Claims Handlers and a Department Assistant. You will join us as a junior or mid-level Legal Counsel, reporting to the Group Legal Manager.

Who are we looking for?
Our preferred candidate has:

  • A Master of Laws degree, with a maritime law specialisation;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in the maritime industry;
  • A pro-active, pragmatic approach to problem-solving;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • An eye for detail;
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
