Meet Martijn Schouten
Chief Executive Officer
Martijn Schouten joined Vroon as our Chief Executive Officer on 15 June 2023.
Martijn brings extensive experience in the shipping industry, with various international board, commercial and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) roles at IHC and various other international companies. After leaving IHC in 2016, he became the CEO of a subsea contractor in the UK. His most recent position was commercial director of a Netherlands-based family-owned international maritime service provider with shipbuilding activities and renting and operating floating assets.
Meet Alain de Blok
Chief Financial Officer
Alain de Blok (1967) was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in October 2023. In addition to his role on the Managing Board, Alain is also a member of the Management Team and responsible for Group Accounting and Reporting, Controlling, Treasury, Legal, HRM and ICT.
Alain has more 25 years’ experience in financial management functions in several sectors and originally joined us in 2008 as Group Controller. From 2012, with the exception of a short career break, he filled the position of Group Treasurer. Alain formed part of the core Vroon team that worked tirelessly to finalise the Company's restructuring programme.
Alain holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics.
