Vroon reports strong 2025 figures and positive outlook

Breda, 30 April 2026

  • Group net revenue, driven by strong market demand, rises to USD 247.1m
  • EBITDA at USD 69.1m, highest figure since 2023 restructuring
  • Continued focus on offering added-value services to customers in niche markets
  • Outlook for 2026 positive, as niche markets are expected to remain stable

Vroon Holding B.V. (Vroon) has reported strong figures for the financial year 2025 and expects an overall positive business performance for 2026. The group net revenues remained stable on the previous year, at USD 247.1m. The EBITDA of USD 69.1m for the financial year ending 31 December 2025, marked a robust 12% increase year-on-year. This solid performance highlights the Company’s successful execution of its strategic priorities, including the continued diversification of its customer base and geographic scope, enhanced commercial activities, and sustained focus on efficient and effective technical management and fleet operations.

Strong market performance
More specifically in Vroon’s market segments, the trading results of the Livestock Express fleet increased by 77% to USD 39.3m compared to the previous year. This was due to strong market demand in Southeast Asia and South America, and availability of herds in Australia, as well as the stabilisation of operating expenses in 2025.

The high-heat market operated by Iver Ships remained relatively strong, with net revenue up 6% to USD 53.3m. Similarly, net revenue for the emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) sector, operated by Vroon Offshore Services, increased by 9% to USD 105.6m, after the success of expanded deployment in the offshore wind and survey market.

Successful refinancing agreement
In September 2025, Vroon succeeded in refinancing its outstanding financing arrangement – amounting to USD 163m – in a three-year syndicated facilities agreement. The Company further reduced its total debt by 17%, to USD 142m at the end of the year.

A positive outlook
The outlook for 2026 is positive, as Vroon’s niche markets are expected to remain stable. However, uncertainties surrounding the geopolitical situation in areas such as the Middle East and Ukraine may have an effect on the Company’s financial performance.

Vroon’s primary areas of focus in 2026 continue to be: maintaining trading margins and fleet utilisation; simplifying the Company’s legal and organisational structure; and realising efficiencies that will support profitability. In addition, the Company is considering divestment of older assets to reduce the average age of the vessels in its fleet. Furthermore, Vroon will continue operating a well‐maintained fleet that is active in a variety of market segments.

The livestock sector is expected to remain strong for at least the first three to six months of 2026. The market conditions for high heat are forecasted to remain relatively stable and deployment of Vroon’s ERRVs in the renewables industry is providing ongoing opportunities for development, allowing the Company to enjoy the benefits of diversification.

“Vroon’s positive financial results show how successful we have been in implementing our strategy over the past 12 months”, says Vroon CEO, Martijn Schouten. “We have a healthy balance sheet, sharp operational focus and clear positioning within each of our niche markets. We will continue to focus on offering first-class, value-added services to our customers in niche markets. In this way, we will create valuable commercial agreements and reduce risks to the overall portfolio. Furthermore, we remain deeply committed to safety awareness, especially for our highly qualified people, both at sea and ashore.”
