Accounting Administrator (1 FTE)

With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 2,000 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 130 vessels. The Company is active - through various subsidiaries and under different brand names - in the following business segments: livestock carriers; offshore-support vessels and services; dry-cargo vessels; container vessels; product tankers; high-heat tankers; car carriers and vessel-management services.
From our Breda head office, approximately 120 staff support the Company’s activities. The Accounting Department provides support to the Company’s Management Companies and shore-based employees worldwide.

What will you do?
Under the supervision of our Accounting Manager, you form part of a team administering the accounts for several Companies. You work with the Voyage Accounting team, looking after revenues and cost of sales for an allocated division. You process financial and accounting transactions and resolve problems. You maintain accurate, up-to-date and useable information in our system.

Who are we looking for?
Our preferred candidate has:

  • A relevant HBO or equivalent qualification, or an MBO or equivalent qualification, supplemented with at least three years’ experience in an accounting role;
  • Experience in an Accounts Payable environment;
  • Proven data-entry skills and familiarity with Accounts receivable and other general ledger-related tasks;
  • Good knowledge of financial systems and applications;
  • Key competencies: An accurate, stress-resistant, focused, hands-on, analytical and problem-solving team player, with attention for planning and organisation;
  • Flexibility to pick up ad-hoc tasks to support the wider finance team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch;
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as Microsoft AX Dynamics, would be an advantage.
