Vroon has a family culture with direct, short reporting lines. With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 2,000 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 120 vessels. From our Breda head office, approximately 120 staff support the Company’s activities.
 

The Controlling Department has an active role as business partner in the Company and continuously strives for improvement. We are currently looking for a Controller at Group level who has a strong personality, positive/critical mindset and helicopter view. Our new Controller feels accountable, is accurate, analytical, communicative, team-focussed, pragmatic and has an affinity for the business.

 

What will you do?

As Group Controller you act as a strong business partner, managing and deploying financial measures and controlling processes. You provide transparent information to enable and drive effective decision making in achieving our strategic objectives. You will:

  • Drive the weekly, monthly, yearly and mid-term Financial Planning processes;
  • Drive cash-flow forecast processes;
  • Execute ad-hoc analyses and reporting;
  • Partner, and drive, the facility-support functions in achieving both short- and long-term objectives;
  • Be a bridge builder between Group and business, maintaining an independent (financial) view on what is best for the Company as a whole;
  • Drive the optimisation and improvement of processes, standardisation of reporting and insight-driven analyses to satisfy the need for Management information;
  • Participate in improvement projects and validate the business cases;
  • Identify (business and financial) risks and opportunities.

 

Who are we looking for?

Experience

  • Preferably a Master or Register Controller degree;
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in an international environment;
  • Experience within the maritime industry would be an advantage;
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Excel and PowerBI;
  • Knowledge of Dutch (GAAP) and IFRS;
  • Proven track record in financial and group control at business unit, divisional or group level;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.

Reporting to the Group Controlling Manager, you form part of the Controlling Team, consisting of three Business Controllers and the Group Controller. You will join a team of enthusiastic colleagues, working closely together, with clear communication lines and agreements with one another.
