With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 3,000 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 140 vessels. The Company is active - through various subsidiaries and under different brand names - in the following business segments: livestock carriers; offshore-support vessels; offshore maintenance and engineering services; dry-cargo vessels; container vessels; product tankers; high-heat tankers; car carriers and vessel-management services.
From our Breda head office, approximately 120 staff support the Company’s activities.

The ICT Department provides support to the Vroon offices, vessels and employees worldwide.

What will you do?
If you have a passion for ERP systems in the area of HRM and Crewing and gain satisfaction from driving technical and process improvements that benefit the business, you may be the person our team needs.  As ICT Business Application Analyst – HRM/Crewing, your primary responsibility will be the support and enhancement of HRM and Crewing processes in our Microsoft Dynamics AX environment and third-party application “FLEETimpact”.     

As part of a team of ICT specialists, you will support our Vroon employees by:

  • Developing recommendations to improve the ICT business application, based on analysis of company-wide business requirements and compliancy with company ICT standards;
  • Creating functional specifications and system designs, based on business requirements;
  • Managing the process of (outsourced) systems configuration and development;
  • Prototyping new capabilities that add business value to the processes in your area of responsibility;
  • Facilitating User Acceptance tests within your key-user community;
  • Ensuring handover to Service Desk, when required;
  • Performing problem management for high-impact and/or recurring incidents to prevent recurrence;
  • Managing the implementation of changes/projects, using a structured approach and working in close cooperation with your stakeholders;
  • Taking initiatives to improve the ICT environment, processes and services;
  • Occasionally travelling to Vroon offices and/or vessels to optimise utilisation of systems.

You maintain a close connection with both internal and external teams, with regard to business applications, infrastructure and Service Desk matters. You aim to ensure a timely resolution of any reported issues and strive for efficient implementation of changes. Your professional relationship with all key business stakeholders guarantees a correct prioritisation of new requests and optimal value delivery.

An important project for the ICT team in the coming years is development and implementation of a cloud strategy for the company. This is likely to be based on Microsoft products, such as Office365 and Azure, in combination with MS Dynamics365 and other SaaS-based applications.

Who are we looking for?
Our preferred candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business-related Information Systems or equivalent;
  • A minimum of two years’ experience with ERP solutions, preferably in the area of Crewing/HRM and Payroll;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 is a plus;
  • Key competencies: customer-focus, stress resistant, problem solving, team player, accuracy, planning and organisation, constructive and persuasive;
  • Experience in an international environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English.
