Receptionist (0.4 FTE)

With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 2,000 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 120 vessels. The Company is active - through various subsidiaries and under different brand names - in the following business segments: livestock carriers; offshore-support vessels and services; dry-cargo vessels; container vessels; product tankers; high-heat tankers; car carriers and vessel-management services.

From our Breda head office, approximately 120 staff support the Company’s activities.


Tasks and responsibilities:

In close cooperation with your fellow Receptionists, you provide professional and efficient support to the staff at our Breda office.

As first point of contact at the office, your responsibilities include the professional and timely handling of external and internal information and communication streams:

  • Answering and placing telephone calls;
  • Greeting and directing visitors;
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date attendance record that is available for the Emergency Response Team in the event of an office evacuation;
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, including registered mail and couriered packages;
  • Ensuring an efficient handover to your fellow Receptionists.

What are we looking for?

No two days are the same, as Receptionist at Vroon. Our preferred candidate:

  • Is a well-organised, motivated, flexible, service-minded and responsible team player, who will thrive in a dynamic and international environment;
  • Can juggle ad-hoc and multiple tasks, while maintaining a friendly and positive approach;
  • Works to a senior secondary vocational (MBO) level (relevant diploma(s) and/or experience);
  • Has a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar job, preferably in an international business environment;
  • Possesses excellent MS Office and Outlook skills;
  • Is prepared to work 16 hours a week, preferably one of the two days on Friday.


Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English are essential.
